Origin

Night-Scented Stock is originally from Europe and Asia, where it escaped gardens and now grows wildly due to its hardiness and resistance to cold. Its name comes from the flower’s lovely scent which grows stronger at night.

Qualities

Night-Scented Stock is primarily grown for its wonderful evening-time scent over its aesthetic appearance. This variety has small, purple and white blossoms that grow atop long stems with lanceolate leaves.

Use

Enjoy the flowers’ intensely sweet aroma, which is heightened at night. They add delicate and elegant blooms to your Gardyn and make wonderful cut flowers for any floral arrangement. To bring their beauty and scent to other rooms without harvesting, use the Gardyn Vase! The flowers are also edible and make beautiful garnishes.

Care & Harvest

✂️ Pruning: Check the roots monthly and trim any that are brown or extending past the yPod. To encourage new flower bud development, remove dead flower heads, called deadheading. When deadheading, also trim back the bare stem that remains on the plant to prevent it from rotting.

🌸 Harvest: To harvest as cut flowers, wait until flowers are nearly open, then cut low to the base of the stalk and place in water immediately. To harvest individual blooms, pinch off flowers where they meet the stem and use immediately.
