How Kelby Evaluates Your Gardyn's Assembly

Edited

Getting your Gardyn set up and running can feel like a task worth celebrating once done, which is why Kelby assesses your device's assembly through your Gardyn's cameras. If Kelby detects anything amiss, you'll be notified of the specific issue to fix.

Kelby judges a successful assembly based on 3 main factors: no open slots, yCubes inserted into the columns, and cardboard removed from yCubes. The image below highlights the visual data Kelby uses to determine whether each factor is present on your Gardyn.

Red highlights cardboard covers still on yCubes, green highlights yCubes filling the columns, and blue highlights open slots on the columns.

1. Open vs. Closed Slots

It's totally fine if you want to grow fewer than 30 plants, but it's important to keep spaces without yCubes covered with Gardyn Caps. These prevent interior algae growth, along with anything unwanted from entering your Gardyn.

2. yCubes Present

The whole point of setting up your Gardyn is to get growing, so Kelby wants to ensure you're ready to kick off your journey with yCubes present in your columns!

3. yCubes' Cardboard Removed

yCubes come with small cardboard inserts to help prevent the seeds from falling out of the rockwool during transit. It's important to remove this cardboard once you turn your Gardyn on because, once wet, it would trap too much moisture and block the light, preventing your seeds from germinating.
