What do you mean by "mature" plant?
In every plant's page in the app's Plant Book, you'll see a number of days listed for how long it takes that plant to reach maturity. In other guidance, you'll see Kelby or articles that refer to mature plants.
Maturity means the plant has reached its ultimate size, growth pattern, or is old enough to provide regular harvests. This is compared to sprouts, which are the earliest signs of growth from seeds, and seedlings, which are still very young and small plants.
While each plant's maturity timeline and form look different, we use maturity to roughly determine how you should treat your plants. For example, mature plants need regular doses of Gardyn plant food, HydroBoost, and fresh water, whereas seeds require just a little tap water to grow into sprouts.
Don't get too hung up on the exact age of your plants, and instead consider each plant's size, production, and root mass to help guide you in deciding how mature it is.
Seedlings don't have extensive root growth and can be checked about once a month, while larger and more mature plant roots will fill the yPod and should be checked and trimmed every 2 weeks.
Mature lettuces, leafy greens, and most herbs can be continuously, partially harvested about every 1-2 weeks. Mature fruiting plants have longer cycles to bloom and provide fruit, but they will do so in several waves as long as they are well taken care of. Mature flowers provide beautiful blooms in several waves as well when deadheaded.
The exact lifespan of your plants depends on the care they receive combined with the plant's natural life cycle limits. You can learn more about when to remove plants here.
