How Kelby Detects Dry vs. Wet Rockwool

Edited

The first time your yCubes' rockwool gets wet from your Gardyn's premier watering is a momentous occasion. This kicks off your seeds' germination, truly beginning your plants' growing journey!

Kelby checks members' Gardyns to ensure your first watering was successful, notifying you of its detection results. The image below highlights the visual data Kelby uses to determine whether your yCubes are wet (successful first watering) or dry (unsuccessful first watering).

Red highlights dry rockwool, which appears totally light green, while blue highlights wet rockwool, which appears dark green to mottled (a patchwork appearance of light and dark green).

During this precious time surrounding your first soak, your Gardyn is in Germination Mode, which is a specialized mode designed to enhance germination speed and success. Kelby controls your watering during this time, so don't worry if it's a few days before you hear another watering cycle - Kelby knows best!
